The independent national electoral commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the people's democratic party (PDP) Sen.Ademola Adeleke winner of the Governorship election conducted in the thirty local government areas of the state.

Sen. Ademola Adeleke was declared winner after polling a total vote of 403,371 votes in all thirty local governments, with his second runner up of the All progressive congress  (Apc) Gov. Oyetola with a total vote of 375,027 votes.

With these results figures power has changed hands in Osun State, as an incubent governor was voted out of office, making the state a PDP state for the next four years.
